William Chopp

Board Member 

Mr. Chopp brings more than 40 years of experience working as an educator and administrator with the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board. During his tenure with the school board, Mr. Chopp has worked as a Teacher, Principal, Superintendent of Education and now as a School Board Trustee. He has also worked as a professor at the post-secondary level, teaching both Special Education at Nipissing University and Special Education Law at the Adler School of Psychology. Mr. Chopp currently serves on Mohawk College’s Educational Assistant Advisory Committee.

In addition to his employment background in the educational sector, Mr. Chopp has been an active member of the community and has leadership governance experience with numerous community service and charitable organizations. He has worked with the Brantford Catholic Youth Organization’s Youth Basketball Association since 1980, serving as Coach, Convener and Member of the Board. Since 2000 he has been a board member for Brantford’s annual Thank-A-Vet Luncheon, and currently sits on the board of directors of Camp Unity - a summer program for children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. Mr. Chopp has also served as both board member and Chairperson of the Walter Gretzky CNIB Golf Classic from 1992-2010, and as a director of K.A.M.P. Chiefswood from 1982-1990 - a non-profit educational summer camp for special needs children.
